Hollywood stars Idris Elba and Cynthia Erivo, along with ice dancers Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, were among those recognized in Britain's New Year's honors list. Elba was knighted for his charitable work with young people through the Elba Hope Foundation. Erivo received an MBE for her contributions to music and drama. The honors also recognized author Richard Osman, marathon runner Paula Radcliffe, and D-Day veteran Mervyn Kersh for their diverse achievements and services.
