Ram Gopal Varma Explains Urmila Matondkar's Casting and Setting in Bhoot

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma revealed that Urmila Matondkar was cast in his 2003 horror film Bhoot after being impressed by her intense expression in the song 'Hai Rama' from his earlier film Rangeela. Bhoot, set in a relatable Lokhandwala apartment rather than a traditional haunted haveli, became a box-office success and earned Matondkar several awards for her portrayal of a possessed wife. Varma noted the importance of casting in horror and said he currently has no plans to collaborate with her again.
