Bharatanatyam exponent Urmila Satyanarayanan has been awarded the Nritya Kalanidhi award by The Music Academy. This recognition coincides with her 50th arangetram anniversary and 30th anniversary of her dance school, Natya Sankalpaa. Satyanarayanan attributes her success to her parents' dreams and the guidance of her gurus, Ranganayaki Jayaraman, K.N. Dhandayuthapani Pillai, and K.J. Sarasa, who honed her skills and stage presence over a five-decade career.
