The Emami Art Experimental Film Festival (EAEFF) took place from September 11-14 at the Kolkata Centre for Creativity and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute. The festival showcased slow, unconventional, and formally inventive films, aiming to challenge audience assumptions about cinema. Director Ushmita Sahu emphasized the festival's goal to provoke thought and interpretation rather than provide easy answers. Indian selections included Karthik Subramanian's 'Sleepwalker Archives,' a nearly hour-long film exploring memory through personal and archival imagery, questioning human interaction with nature.
