Film scholar Ira Bhaskar, mother of actor Swara Bhaskar, has criticised the film Dhurandhar for its portrayal of Muslims and Pakistan as violent, arguing that the film promotes an ideological message aligned with Hindutva. While acknowledging the film's commercial success and technical competence, she questioned whether cinematic technique can be separated from the ideas it conveys. Bhaskar highlighted that the film selectively depicts violence, portraying Muslims predominantly as terrorists or gangsters, and Pakistan as a violent nation, sparking varied public reactions.
