Filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia faced threats from local political figures during the 2003 shoot of his debut film Haasil in Allahabad (now Prayagraj) due to its portrayal of student politics. The backlash began after filming the opening scene featuring Ashutosh Rana's character, perceived as a negative depiction of the university. Dhulia sought help from actress Jaya Bachchan, who intervened to resolve tensions. The film later removed city references to avoid further controversy.
