Director PS Mithran announced that the highly anticipated sequel 'Sardar 2', starring Karthi in dual roles, will release worldwide on September 10, 2026. The spy thriller's release will closely precede Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna's film 'Ranabaali', set for September 11, creating a box office clash. Production faced a setback in July 2024 due to a stuntman's fatal accident. The film features returning and new cast members and is expected to release in multiple South Indian languages.
