'Ramayan' Actors Enter Politics and Become Members of Parliament

Several actors from the popular 1980s television series 'Ramayan' have transitioned into politics, becoming Members of Parliament. Arun Govil, who played Lord Rama, was elected to the Lok Sabha in 2024 from Meerut for the BJP. Dipika Chikhlia, who portrayed Sita, was elected as a BJP MP from Vadodara in 1991. Dara Singh, who played Hanuman, was nominated to the Rajya Sabha in 2003. Arvind Trivedi, known for playing Ravan, also served as an MP from Gujarat in 1991.
