Nayyi Navelli: Yami Gautam's Supernatural Comedy Draws Mixed Reviews
Nayyi Navelli, directed by Balaji Mohan and starring Yami Gautam Dhar, is a supernatural horror-comedy set in Meerut. The story follows Mohini, a seemingly perfect daughter-in-law whose brother-in-law suspects she is a witch, leading to a family drama intertwined with mythology referencing the Ramayana. Critics and audiences are divided: some praise Yami's performance, family humour, and the film's unique premise, while others criticize its convoluted screenplay, uneven tone, and overuse of mythology and special effects. The film blends fantasy, comedy, and folklore but struggles with pacing and coherence.
