Eros International Files Rs 84 Crore Lawsuit Against Aanand L Rai Over Raanjhanaa Rights

Eros International Media has filed an Rs 84 crore lawsuit against director Aanand L Rai and associates, alleging unauthorized use of intellectual property from the 2013 film Raanjhanaa in the 2025 film Tere Ishk Mein. The suit claims that Tere Ishk Mein was promoted as a 'spiritual sequel' without Eros's consent, infringing on copyrights, trademarks, and related rights. The lawsuit names Rai, Colour Yellow Productions, T-Series, writer Himanshu Sharma, and Netflix India among the defendants. Rai and Eros have had ongoing disputes, including over a re-release of Raanjhanaa with an AI-altered ending.
