Director Priyadarshan confirmed that Hera Pheri 3 will not begin production this year due to ongoing legal disputes over film and music rights. Producer G P Vijayakumar's Seven Arts International claims rights over the franchise, challenging Firoz Nadiadwala's involvement and alleging contract breaches related to sequels and rights transfers. Bhushan Kumar has publicly asserted ownership of the music rights. Additionally, actor Paresh Rawal temporarily exited the project, but disputes with Akshay Kumar were later resolved. Production remains on hold pending legal clarity.
