
Rudyard Kipling, the Mumbai-born British author renowned for "The Jungle Book," is being celebrated on his 160th birth anniversary on December 30, 2025. Kipling, a journalist, novelist, poet, and short-story writer, spent his early years in India before moving to England. His works include "The Jungle Book" and "The Absent-Minded Beggar." A bungalow named after him, located at Mumbai's J.J. School of Art where his father was dean, is being renovated into a heritage museum.
