Eighteen-year-old John Foster, an LSU biology student, gained national recognition as the runner-up on Season 23 of American Idol with his neo-traditional country sound. Following his Idol success, Foster signed with 19 Recordings BMG. He continued his momentum into 2026 by performing at the Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, reaching a large audience on New Year's Day.
