The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is once again tracking Santa Claus's journey on Christmas Eve, a tradition dating back to 1955. This year, millions are following Santa's global gift-delivery route online via the NORAD Santa Tracker website, mobile app, and social media, with some also using Google's tracker. The tradition began accidentally when a misprinted advertisement led children to call a military hotline. NORAD uses satellites, radar, and fighter jets to monitor Santa's progress, which typically starts in the South Pacific and moves westward across continents.
