The historic Baan Theatre, celebrating 125 years, concluded its biennial conference in Tezpur with resolutions to protect Assamese language, literature, and culture from threats. A key proposal adopted was the establishment of a national theatre institute in Tezpur. The conference also resolved to publish a compilation of plays and form a committee to amend the theatre's constitution. Lifetime memberships were awarded, and a new executive committee was elected.
