S. Sowmya, a Carnatic vocalist known for her classical sensibility, presented a concert featuring lesser-known kritis at the Mylapore Fine Arts Club. Accompanied by Embar S. Kannan on violin, Neyveli R. Narayanan on mridangam, and G. Chandrasekara Sharma on ghatam, Sowmya opened with a piece in Jyotiswarupini. She also offered a unique interpretation of the raga Husseni, emphasizing its original formulation without the suddha dhaivatam in the ascent, followed by a rendition of Vallalar's Tiruvarutpa. The concert also included Muthuswami Dikshitar's kriti 'Sri guruna palitosmi' in Paadi.
