
The 2026 International Booker Prize longlist features 13 fiction books translated from 11 languages, representing 14 nationalities. Chaired by Natasha Brown, the jury highlighted themes including war, family, and diverse cultural settings from Iran to Brazil. Notably, two Iranian books are included, one by Shida Bazyar set across four decades, and another by Shahrnush Parsipur, whose work remains banned in Iran. The shortlist will be announced on March 31, with the winner revealed on May 19 in London.
