Filmmaker Rima Das has been honored with an Excellence in Directing award by New York Women in Film and Television (NYWIFT) for her film "Village Rockstars 2." Das was among 11 international filmmakers recognized for their contributions to cinema by the respected US-based nonprofit. She stated the award is "deeply meaningful" and reaffirms her belief in the global reach of Indian stories. The film is a sequel to her acclaimed "Village Rockstar" and previously won the Kim Jiseok Award at the Busan International Film Festival 2024.
