The fallout stemmed from Kumar's discovery that Asif, who was already married, had secretly eloped with Kumar's sister, Akhtar. This betrayal deeply affected Kumar, leading him to distance himself from both Asif and his sister for several years. Consequently, Kumar reportedly chose to skip the premiere of the film, despite his significant role.
