A remake of the 1992 psychological thriller 'Single White Female' titled 'Single Female' is in development, starring Jenna Ortega and Taylor Russell. Screenwriter Sarah DeLappe, known for 'Bodies Bodies Bodies' and acclaimed stage work, is writing the script. Producers Stacey Sher and Marisa Paiva have joined the project, which is backed by 3000 Pictures. The original film focused on a woman suspecting her new roommate's unsettling behavior. Ortega is also known for her role in Netflix's 'Wednesday' series.
