
Filmmaker Roger Allers, co-director of Disney's acclaimed 1994 film The Lion King, has died at 76. Known for his work on animated classics including Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and The Emperor's New Groove, Allers also wrote the Tony Award-winning Broadway adaptation of The Lion King. Announced by friend Dave Bossert, Allers began his career on projects like Sesame Street and later contributed to films such as Open Season. He is survived by his former wife and two children.
