Verity Thriller Starring Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson Released with CBFC Cuts
Verity, a psychological thriller directed by Michael Showalter and based on Colleen Hoover's novel, stars Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett. The story follows Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer hired to complete a bestselling series for the incapacitated author Verity Crawford. The film explores dark family secrets revealed through a hidden manuscript. It received an 'A' certificate in India after the CBFC cut 23 seconds of intimate scenes and mandated health warnings. Reviews praise Hathaway's performance but note mixed reactions to pacing and plot execution. Verity releases in theaters on October 2, 2026.
