Reports suggest that director Ashwath Marimuthu, known for 'Dragon', is in talks to direct Rajinikanth's next film, tentatively titled 'Thalaivar 173'. Marimuthu has reportedly narrated a screenplay that Rajinikanth liked. The film is expected to be produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International. Previously, director Sundar C was attached to the project but exited due to prior commitments. Several other directors were also considered before Marimuthu emerged as a frontrunner. An official announcement is anticipated soon, as Rajinikanth is currently busy with 'Jailer 2'.
