Delhi and Chennai Announce Traffic Restrictions for Republic Day 2026 Rehearsals

Delhi authorities have announced traffic restrictions and road closures on January 17, 19, 20, and 21, 2026, due to Republic Day parade rehearsals along Kartavya Path from Vijay Chowk to India Gate. Key crossings including Rafi Marg, Janpath, Man Singh Road, and the C-Hexagon will be closed from 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes such as Ring Road and Aurobindo Marg. Additionally, Rashtrapati Bhavan's Circuit 1 will be closed to the public from January 21 to 29. In Chennai, similar restrictions will apply on Kamarajar Salai on January 19, 21, and 23 for parade rehearsals.
