A rare peregrine falcon, recognized as the world's fastest bird, has been sighted at the Nandur Madhmeshwar Sanctuary in Nashik. This predatory bird, known for its speed and hunting prowess, is rarely seen in the area. The sanctuary is currently hosting a large population of native and migratory birds, including species from Alaska, Siberia, and Europe, attracted by the cold weather. The peregrine falcon, also called the 'Royal Falcon' in the Indian subcontinent, can reach speeds over 290 km/h.
