Central Railway Ticket Inspector Collects Over Rs. 1 Crore in Penalties in 2025-26

Mohammed Shams Chand, a Travelling Ticketing Inspector with Central Railway's Mumbai Division, collected over Rs. 1 crore in penalties during the 2025-26 financial year by detecting 11,483 cases of ticketless travel. His efforts helped prevent significant revenue loss for the railways and set a benchmark for ticket checking personnel. Central Railway urged passengers to travel with valid tickets, available through authorised vendors, booking counters, ATVMs, the IRCTC website, or the RailOne app.
