A goods train with around 50 wagons descended the Khandala Ghat section on the Mumbai-Pune route at 75 kmph, exceeding the 60 kmph speed limit. The train, operated by a trainee loco pilot with two Ghat driver crews and one regular crew onboard, was stopped safely between Karjat and Bhivpuri. Central Railway has ordered a probe into the incident, suspecting crew failure to control the train despite functioning brakes.
