Vellore Corporation is accelerating underground pipeline work on the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway near Green Circle to finish before Pongal 2026. The project aims to connect new pipelines to a Sewage Treatment Plant and alleviate traffic congestion caused by a large trench. Work is being conducted overnight due to heavy traffic, with new pipes laid at a depth of nine meters. This multi-crore project, initiated in 2019, includes sewer lines, pumping stations, and treatment plants to serve 32 wards.
