A major fire broke out early Tuesday at Unit-I market in Bhubaneswar, destroying over 40 shops and goods worth lakhs of rupees. The blaze, fueled by plastic materials and LPG cylinders stored in closely packed shops, took around three hours to control with over 13 fire tenders and 80 personnel deployed. No casualties were reported, and two people sleeping in a shop escaped unharmed. Authorities are assessing damages and planning fire prevention measures, including removing encroachments and infrastructure upgrades.
