
Western and West Central Railways have intensified ticket checking drives from April 2025 to February 2026, detecting millions of cases of ticketless and irregular travel. Western Railway reported nearly 30 lakh violations, collecting over Rs 191 crore in fines, with Mumbai Suburban alone accounting for over 10 lakh cases and Rs 50 crore recovered. West Central Railway detected 5.7 lakh cases, collecting Rs 36.3 crore in penalties. Both railways aim to reduce revenue loss and improve passenger discipline through these efforts.
