Pawan Hans Helicopter Makes Emergency Sea Landing Near Mayabunder, All Rescued Safely

A Pawan Hans helicopter carrying seven people, including two crew members and five passengers, made an emergency sea landing near Mayabunder in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on February 24, 2026. The helicopter, which had taken off from Port Blair, experienced a technical snag prompting the pilot to perform a controlled ditching about 300 meters short of the Mayabunder helipad. All onboard were rescued safely without injuries and admitted to a local hospital. Authorities have initiated an inquiry to determine the cause.
