A KSRTC tourist bus carrying 28 passengers caught fire and was completely destroyed near Kottayam, Kerala, on Wednesday. The passengers, all from Malappuram and en route to Gavi, noticed smoke and evacuated safely with their luggage before the flames spread. Fire services arrived but could not save the bus. KSRTC arranged a replacement bus, and an investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
