A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck Gujarat's Kutch district early Saturday at 1:22 a.m., with its epicentre about 55 km north northeast of Khavda, causing panic but no reported casualties or property damage, officials said. Kutch lies in a very high-risk seismic zone where low-intensity quakes occur regularly. The tremor occurred days before the anniversary of the devastating 7.6 magnitude 2001 earthquake that killed around 13,800 people and caused widespread destruction.
