
Nelyakkattu Mahadevan, a 55-year-old captive elephant known for participating in temple festivals and appearing in a Malayalam film, collapsed and died in Kochi on Friday. The elephant, owned by an Ayurveda firm, reportedly collapsed while being loaded onto a truck after a temple festival. Veterinary doctors attempted treatment, but the elephant passed away. A postmortem examination is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
