Portion of Bengaluru-Hosur NH44 Collapses During Overpass Construction, Traffic Disrupted

A section of National Highway 44 between Bengaluru and Hosur near Attibele/Chandapura caved in during deep excavation work for vehicular overpasses aimed at reducing accident-prone spots. The incident caused significant traffic disruptions, prompting authorities to open a service road to ease congestion. NHAI officials stated that retaining walls were near completion and the highway will run at a lower level upon project completion, with local traffic moving at grade. No injuries were reported, and repair work is underway.
