Parts of Ludhiana experienced a 13-hour power outage starting early Thursday morning due to widespread tripping of electricity feeders caused by heavy rain. Approximately 92 feeders of 11 kV lines and three 66 kV transmission lines were affected, disrupting supply to numerous residential and industrial areas. Power restoration efforts began by evening, with officials citing moisture and smog contributing to the feeder trips. The power department saw a significant surge in complaints during the outage.
