A leopard sighting in Panchkula's Sector 6 on Saturday prompted authorities to launch a capture operation. The animal was spotted in residential areas and near an under-construction house, causing residents to be advised to stay indoors. Forest and police teams, utilizing drones and CCTV footage, are conducting a joint operation. This incident follows a similar sighting in the nearby Morni area, where a leopard entered a house. Wildlife officials attribute straying leopards to seeking prey and dense fog, noting an increase in the regional leopard population.
