Chennai Metro Rail is set to launch Phase II train services on the 15.8-km stretch from Poonamallee Bypass to Vadapalani in February, a slight shift from the initial plan. This route offers initial connectivity to the Phase I network. The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) has completed the first inspection, with a final inspection for station facilities anticipated in late January. Trial runs are scheduled to extend to Vadapalani on January 9, pending weather conditions, to facilitate the planned service commencement.
