A collision between two loco trains carrying workers and materials occurred late Tuesday evening inside a tunnel at the Vishnugad-Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. Approximately 60 to 88 individuals sustained injuries, with most reported to be in stable condition. The accident happened during a shift change at the THDC-managed project. Authorities have initiated a magisterial inquiry to determine the cause and review safety protocols. The trains involved were part of a local arrangement for project construction and not Indian Railways trains.
