A social activist has suggested rescheduling the Tiruchi-Mannargudi train (76802) to depart Tiruchi at 7:15 p.m. to connect with the Nagercoil-Chennai Vande Bharat train. This change would benefit passengers traveling to delta region destinations. Additionally, advancing the Tiruchi-Mayiladuthurai train (16734) departure by over an hour is proposed to aid commuters heading towards Thanjavur and beyond. The activist also urged Southern Railway to utilize the electrified double-track between Tiruchi and Thanjavur for increased shuttle or DEMU services.
