February saw significantly below-normal rainfall and above-average temperatures in Punjab and Chandigarh. Punjab recorded just 0.6 mm of rain, 98% below normal, with 17 districts experiencing seasonal deficits. Chandigarh received 1.7 mm, 95% below normal, marking its driest and warmest February in three years. The India Meteorological Department attributed the dry, warm conditions to fewer Western Disturbances and absent humid Easterly winds. Temperatures are expected to remain elevated with little rainfall in the coming days.
