Heatwave-Like Conditions Expected in Three Northern Tamil Nadu Districts

Three northern districts of Tamil Nadu—Vellore, Ranipet, and Tiruvallur—are expected to experience heatwave-like conditions, with Vellore recording temperatures up to 40°C, about 4.2°C above normal. The Regional Meteorological Centre issued a heat impact advisory, advising people to avoid outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours. The rise in temperature is attributed to dry weather and clear skies, with a forecasted temperature drop and light rains expected from March 9 to 13.
