Flammable Monomethylamine Gas Leak Contained Near Theur on Pune-Solapur Highway

On March 4, a tanker carrying highly flammable Monomethylamine (MMA) gas leaked near Theur diversion on the Pune-Solapur Highway after getting stuck in soft soil. The leak caused panic due to the gas's hazardous nature and pungent odor. Firefighters from the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority quickly contained the leak and used a crane to remove the tanker. No injuries were reported, and traffic was briefly disrupted but soon restored.
