Chandigarh experienced a brief respite from an unseasonal warm spell as light rainfall of 0.2 mm on March 15 coincided with a significant temperature drop. The maximum temperature fell to around 26 degrees Celsius, nearly eight degrees lower than the peak earlier in the month. This rain, linked to a Western Disturbance, ended a dry spell since January and is expected to be followed by more showers and thunderstorms later in the week, according to the India Meteorological Department.
