Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Ropar has alerted potato farmers in Punjab's growing belt about the rising risk of late blight due to recent drops in temperature and increased humidity. Favorable weather conditions, including temperatures between 12-24°C and high humidity, are conducive to the disease's rapid spread. KVK Ropar advises farmers to conduct regular field surveys, watch for early symptoms like water-soaked spots on leaves, and apply preventive fungicides to mitigate potential crop loss.
