
Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla emphasized the critical importance of dental health for space travel, sharing that he had two wisdom teeth extracted before his mission. He explained that while astronauts are trained for medical emergencies, dental surgery is not feasible in space. This precaution ensures no dental issues arise during missions. Shukla, along with fellow Gaganyaan shortlisted astronauts Group Captain Prasanth Nair and Group Captain Angad Pratap, discussed these and other rigorous evaluations required for spaceflight at IIT Bombay.
