The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts an early onset of summer with temperatures rising 2 to 5 degrees Celsius above normal in Northwest and Western India during early March. While March may see normal to below-normal maximum temperatures in many regions, an above-normal number of heatwave days is expected across most parts of India from March to May, including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and several other states. Some northern hill areas may receive light rain or snowfall due to weak western disturbances. Despite the heat, current conditions are favorable for wheat crops, and rainfall is expected to be near normal in March.
