Indian Railways operated 244 special trains during the Mauni Amavasya period starting January 3, 2026, facilitating travel for around 4.5 lakh devotees across Northern, North Central, and North Eastern Railway zones. On January 18, Prayagraj saw peak activity with 40 special trains carrying about 1 lakh passengers. All regular trains ran on schedule, reflecting effective planning and coordination by Indian Railways to ensure safe and smooth travel during the festival.
