Mumbai's Metro Line 9, an extension of Line 7, is set to open, connecting Mira Bhayandar to Andheri East without requiring an interchange. The first phase will feature four stations, with subsequent phases extending connectivity to Bhayandar and eventually the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSIA) via Line 7A. This new line aims to significantly reduce traffic congestion on the Western Express Highway and is expected to be inaugurated after January 15, following the completion of the Model Code of Conduct. The project's total cost is Rs 6,607 crore.
