Eight wagons of a goods train derailed late Saturday night between Lahabon and Simulata stations in Asansol division, disrupting services on the Howrah-Patna-Delhi route. No casualties were reported. The incident caused cancellations, diversions, and delays for thousands of Sikh devotees traveling to Patna Sahib for Prakash Utsav. An inquiry has been ordered, and efforts are underway to restore train services on both lines. Several express and MEMU trains were cancelled or diverted.
